Slavery Reparations: This Is What Happens When You Put Democrats in Charge

Following Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s congressional hearing on slavery reparations, Tucker Carlson of Fox News gave one of the most apt descriptions of that ultra-leftwing fringe policy that we’ve ever heard. So, we’ll steal it from him now:

Imagine that someone commits a horrible crime against you, such as shooting your dog or burning your house down. Before the police can arrest the culprit and charge him with the crime, he dies. So, as an alternative, the police arrest an innocent person who did not commit the crime and charge him instead.

That is slavery reparations in a nutshell.

Sheila Jackson Lee, one of the most unimpressive Members of Congress, is now pushing a bill that her staff wrote, which would form a commission to study the best way to force white people in America to directly write checks to their black victims – sort of.

Jackson Lee is a career politician, but she has always had a racial axe to grind. Now that she’s in charge of a House subcommittee, she’s pushing hard for slavery reparations.

Jackson Lee’s entire career has been about race-baiting and spreading racial hatred. She called the Tea Party movement in 2010 the reincarnation of the “KKK.”

In 2003, she complained that the National Weather Service was racist, because of the way that it named hurricanes; why didn’t they ever name hurricanes Sha’neequa?

She accused Republicans of “scaring Muslims” after 9/11, as Congress and the new Department of Homeland Security were trying to figure out how to keep Muslims from flying more planes into buildings.

Despite being one of the most privileged and wealthy members of our society – an elected Member of Congress – the race huckster Jackson Lee feels put upon because of other people’s whiteness and feels even more entitled to their wealth as a consequence.

In 2017, Jackson Lee pitched a fit at an airport and had a First-Class passenger bumped from their seat, just so she could sit in the big chair. When the passenger tried to take a picture of Jackson Lee during the incident, United Airlines threatened to kick the 63-year-old woman off the plane.

Don’t get in Sheila Jackson Lee’s way. She’s a really important Friend of the Clintons.

As you’d expect, the witnesses that Jackson Lee called to talk about slavery reparations were equally well-spoken and thoughtful. Hahaha! Just kidding.

Ta-Nehisi Coates, the dim-witted “intellectual” author now writing Black Panther comic strips, lectured America that “If Thomas Jefferson matters, so does Sally Hemings.”

Coates must have missed the DNA evidence which scientifically proved that Thomas Jefferson never fathered any children with any of his slaves, including Sally Hemings.

Economist and political commentator Julianne Malveaux said that, sure, the Democrats may have started the Ku Klux Klan, but Republicans quickly “became the devil” and took the KKK over.

When did that happen? I’m old enough to remember when the KKK endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in 2016.

Episcopalian Bishop Eugene Taylor Sutton brought a unique theological perspective to the hearing: “I’m actually talking to my white brothers and sisters. You need this [slavery reparations] more than we do. You need this for your soul. You need this to be able to look black people in the eye.”

Apparently in Bishop Sutton’s church, the concept of an individual person being guilty of their individual sins is no longer part of the doctrine. Now an entire race is guilty of a crime that none of its living members have ever committed.

The hearing room for Jackson Lee’s sideshow was packed. When anyone in the room bothered to point out that it is perhaps slightly insane to punish an entire race for a crime it did not commit, that person was quickly booed with hoots and howls.

Subcommittee Chairman Steve Cohen (D-TN) had to bang the gavel and shout, “Chill! Chill!” to the audience as he continuously lost control of Jackson Lee’s audience.

This is what happens in the 21^st century if Americans don’t bother to show up at the ballot box and keep Democrats out of power.

Obamacare, slavery reparations, Medicare for All – these are all different flavors of socialism that result from not doing our civic duty, which is to keep Democrats in the minority.

Want more craziness like this in the US Congress? That’s easy. Just stay home in 2020 and don’t vote. The country will be in great hands with Sheila Jackson Lee’s party in charge.
