Inside China’s Despicable Efforts to Shift Blame to the U.S. for Coronavirus

The Chinese leaders are mad as hell, and they aren’t going to take it anymore. How dare those American medical ignoramuses call the current worldwide outbreak of Coronavirus the “Wuhan Virus.” That’s, uh, what your Democrat enlightened liberals call racism.

And besides, China says, here we have a free and open discussion of current events, we believe those rumors that the coronavirus was engineered in America and spread by U.S. service men.

The Chinese, of course, are in a state of national lockdown and are desperate to avoid regressing to their former third-world status. At first, they covered up the outbreak. Their secrecy could well have allowed the pandemic to get a head start on its current spread.

On January 31, 2020, President Trump clamped down on travel between China and the U.S. His unilateral actions elicited the predictable Democrat whining. That whining has grown into a Greek chorus (with China keening in the background) as President Trump extended travel restrictions to European countries.

China, which has no free press, because it is the press, has already laid the groundwork for a public relations offensive against the United States. One example is its publication “A Battle Against Epidemic: China Combating COVID-19 in 2020.” The screed is a collection of glowing state press releases, praise of their dear leader Xi Jinping, the glorious Communist Party, and the fiction of how China’s totalitarian democratic system has withstood the crisis.

So, in a frenzy of self-conscious desperation, China is working overtime to salvage its reputation as a co-equal superpower with the United States and avoid the consequences of its early prevarication.

Then there was a Chinese Foreign Ministry tweet that made Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff seem almost rational in comparison.

The nutcase is Zhao Lijian. In a rant that could only come from a looney Chicom, Zhao tweeted that it must have been the U.S. military that brought the coronavirus to Wuhan, “When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals? It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan.”

China’s ambassador to South Africa Lin Songtian joined the talking points when he said, ‘Although the epidemic first broke out in China, it did not necessarily mean that the virus is originated from China, let alone ‘made in China.'”

And these guys especially hate the expression “Wuhan coronavirus,” claiming it is a racist dog whistle designed to shame the world’s most populous country–even though that’s the epicenter of the latest outbreak.

U.S. National security adviser, Robert O’Brien, in President Trump’s tradition of not letting lying garbage stand and fester, pushed back: “Unfortunately, rather than using best practices, this outbreak in Wuhan was covered up. There’s lots of open-source reporting from China, from Chinese nationals, that the doctors involved were either silenced or put in isolation…so that the word of this virus could not get out. It probably cost the world community two months.”

Historical note: The so-called Black Death (Bubonic Plague) originated in China in the 14th century and arrived in Europe through Italy. Coincidentally, Italy has the most cases of the coronavirus, China’s latest gift to the western world.

Maybe President Trump could push some additional Chinese buttons and point that fact out.
