Americans Dying from Chinese Fentanyl and We Still Can’t Get a Wall
The autopsy report for Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs have finally been released. Skaggs died of an overdose of fentanyl, oxycodone, oxymorphine and alcohol on July 1 in Texas. Skaggs joins the list of more than 70,000 Americans who will die from opioid overdoses in 2019.
You might not believe we need a wall on our southern border to prevent the demographic destruction of America. But is it okay that we’re killing more Americans every year than the Vietnam War with a poisonous chemical that originates in China and waltzes across our wide-open southern border? At what point will the politicians realize that the wall is needed now more than ever?
Synthetic opioids like fentanyl are actually really hard to make. The drug cartels in Mexico don’t have any chemists who are skilled enough to make it from scratch. They have to buy precursor chemicals called NPP and 4-ANPP. Those chemicals are nearly impossible to get in America or Mexico, so the cartels are required to look overseas to buy it.
There’s currently only one source that we know of that the cartels can buy NPP and 4-ANPP from: The Chinese government-owned chemical factory Yuancheng, headquartered in Wuhan, China.
Normally, reading an article in The Atlantic is about as appealing as hitting yourself in the neck with a hammer. But reporter Ben Westhoff did a spectacular piece of undercover reporting on Yuancheng in August, which is well worth reading.
He investigated Yuancheng for more than a year before he posed as an American fentanyl buyer. More on his story in a moment.
The Trump administration was able to pressure China during the ongoing trade negotiations to finally list the NPP and 4-ANPP fentanyl precursor chemicals as controlled substances in 2018. Selling those chemicals under the table now supposedly carries stiff, you’re-going-to-die-in-a-forced-labor-camp penalties. But the Chinese government-owned Yuancheng is still selling NPP and 4-ANPP to interested buyers.
Ben Westhoff from The Atlantic called the sales department at Yuancheng, posing as one of those interested buyers. They gave him a tour of their sales headquarters and met him off-site when he told them he was interested in buying some illegal steroids, as well as NPP and 4-ANPP.
The sales ladies told him that the fentanyl precursors are now illegal chemicals in China, and Yuancheng is a legal company that follows the law.
Westhoff told them that he wanted the NPP and 4-ANPP to make fentanyl… and they immediately buckled. The sales ladies even made him a nice cup of tea as they explained how Yuancheng ships the chemicals to Mexico. They told him how Yuancheng will break the shipment up into smaller, fictitiously labeled packages in order to dupe customs inspectors in Mexico.
To be clear: China’s official policy states that it’s pretty much a death sentence to sell fentanyl precursor chemicals under the table. But then the one chemical plant in China – owned by the communist government – eagerly agreed to sell a fentanyl precursor shipment to a random guy who walked in off the street. And he didn’t even have to argue with them to convince them to sell it to him!
The falsely labeled packages from China end up in the drug cartel labs in Mexico, where they use the NPP and 4-ANPP to make fentanyl. From there, the sky’s the limit as far as sneaking the poison into the United States.
Cartel gunmen shot at a US Border Patrol boat last week when the agents discovered an underwater pully across the Rio Grande. The cartels were using it slip packages across the border unseen.
The Trump administration has put up 60 miles of new border fencing in Arizona. Video has emerged of dozens of illegal aliens simply walking around the end of the fence. Hence, the need for full coverage of the border with a wall, from sea to shining sea.
Americans are dying at record numbers from drugs that originate in China and then cross the border from Mexico. The American voters have been asking for a wall on the southern border since the Mexican Revolution in 1910. How much longer do we need to wait, now that everyone from waitresses to professional baseball players are dying from Chinese drugs?
