Hey, Bill Barr: We Can Think of One Way to Make Trump Stop Tweeting

Okay, I’m done giving Attorney General Bill Barr the benefit of the doubt. When President Trump tweeted what many of us in America were feeling about the Roger Stone sentencing recommendation from DOJ prosecutors, Bill Barr pitched a fit. Barr ran to the media and claimed that – get this – even though Trump has never intervened in any ongoing criminal case, the president’s tweets “make it impossible” for Barr to do his job. And here I had been thinking that James Comey was the biggest drama queen in DC!

Barr went so far as to suggest that President Trump should stop tweeting, because it just makes his job so terribly difficult.

Barr, of course, is missing an obvious way in which he could get President Trump to stop tweeting about the supposed criminal investigations that are allegedly under way:

PUT SOMEONE IN PRISON ALREADY!

Bill Barr was sworn in as the new Attorney General on February 14, 2019. He’s been on the job for one full year. Let’s review the huge number of arrests and convictions that Bill Barr has secured against the Swamp Creatures that perpetrated the illegal and seditious “Russian collusion” plot to overthrow a duly elected president:

  • Number of Arrests: 0
  • Number of Convictions: 0
  • Number of Extremely Polite Letters Sent to Known Criminals, Telling Them the DOJ Will Not Be Prosecuting Them for Obvious Crimes: 1

After a year on the job, no one has been arrested by Bill Barr for their role in Russiagate hoax. But on the one-year anniversary of Bill Barr’s swearing-in ceremony as the new Attorney General, he sent a polite letter to former FBI Director Andrew McCabe. The letter told McCabe that the DOJ was not going to pursue criminal charges against him, and that they considered the unfortunate “matter” closed.

They even used the word “matter” in the letter, much like former Attorney General Loretta Lynch instructed the FBI to call the criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails a “matter.”

I know it’s been a while but think back on what Andrew McCabe did. He’s the “Andy” in all of the Peter Strzok-Lisa Page lovey-dovey winky-face text messages. McCabe was a central figure in sending undercover agents to set up George Papadopoulos to initiate the bogus Russian collusion frame-up job against President Trump. McCabe leaked information from an ongoing investigation to reporters. And when FBI agents later interviewed him about it, he lied to them.

When Andrew McCabe was fired from the FBI in March of 2018, it wasn’t for “dishonesty.” It was because he had committed an actual crime by lying to investigators to cover up information in an investigation. He didn’t misremember the details from a chain of emails two years earlier, the “crime” for which Roger Stone is now facing years in prison. McCabe flat-out lied to protect himself.

And Bill Barr just let McCabe off the hook completely. Likewise, Bill Barr has the authority to step in on behalf of Roger Stone right now and announce that the DOJ is dropping the case against Stone.

Even Attorney General Eric Holder had the decency to finally drop the bogus case against former Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK). The charges against Stevens had been completely cooked up by then-FBI Director Robert Mueller and a team of overzealous prosecutors. When it was learned that the charges were completely false after Stevens had been wrongly convicted, Holder dropped the case and refused to retry it. Stevens had lost his 2008 reelection bid by then, so his initial bogus prosecution had served its purpose.

Bill Barr could do that for Roger Stone right now. Simply announce that his predecessors had been overzealous against Roger Stone and the “matter” is now closed. But he’s not doing that. Bill Barr is going to let Roger Stone hang, while letting the Russian collusion co-conspirators walk free.

Bill Barr has had a year to prove his bona fides as a reformer and to start cleaning up the swamp. What’s he done? Do you think James Clapper, John Brennan, James Comey, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page are all sleeping like babies tonight? I’ll bet they are.

If Bill Barr is not going to do the job that he was hired to do, then it’s time for him to go.
